Because all tips are anonymous and only code names accepted, the callers feel comfortable that they will not be identified and do not fear retribution.  Many times callers do not want a reward.  A reward is paid if the caller leaves a code name.  The list of crimes solved reflects only the ones that rewards were paid on.  Over $15,000.00 has been paid out to date for tips leading to the arrest of perpetrators

What is Crime Stoppers?

Solano Crime Stoppers Inc. is an organization designed to provide law enforcement agencies in Solano County with information regarding criminal activity.  All information received is confidential and informants remain anonymous.  Citizens who witness a crime can call 707-644-STOP any time of the day or night.  If their information leads to arrest, informants are eligible to receive a cash reward.  The amount of reward, up to $1000.00, is dependent on the type of crime.

Solano Crime Stoppers formerly Vallejo Crime Stoppers originally evolved from the Secret Witness program.  That program had become stagnant and a group of Vallejoans met and decided to form Vallejo Crime Stoppers.   The Crime Stoppers program had State, National and International organizations and was structured to give support to all members.  Vallejo Crime Stoppers was formed on January 1995.  Since that time Vallejo Crime Stoppers has been involved in being a part of the Vallejo Community, not only in receiving tips but supporting various community programs.  Vallejo Crime Stoppers requested donations from the community for the Vallejo Police Department K-9 training program.  It was very successful.  We also provided materials for the “Night Out” event.  Since our inception Vallejo Crime Stoppers has paid out a total of $14,000.00 in rewards.  The tips received led to the arrest of persons who had committed robberies, murders, sold drugs and kidnapers.  Vallejo Crime Stoppers expanded its scope to include all cities in the County of Solano in 2004 and changed its name to Solano Crime Stoppers.
